'Articles of the Day' calendar widget is found on the bottom of several pages throughout the site. This functionality uses Newscoop plugin ArticlesCalendar.
The Idea is to define most important/interesting artice for every day in the calendar year and make it represent that day. When put together, they form dynamic collection of thumbnail images, which show article title on hover. User can navigate thorough past months and quickly see what stories where topical - on the daily bases.
Editors can quicly mark any article as 'Article of the Day' in article edit screen of that article - there is sidebar widget that can be used to also define date (by defualt, article publish date is offered) for which article is marked as featured.
There has been error in communication with Booktype server. Not sure right now where is the problem.
